AMAZON TO ARIZONA - ACTIVISTS FOR WHAT'S RIGHT AND WHAT'S NEEDED!
Welcome to our worlds!
My awesome wife is from the Amazon Jungle, Brazil. Her tribal chief Father Manoel Xavier wanted a different life for their daughters so they left the jungle and took them into as modern of civilization Manaus, Amazonas could be. She has been nicknamed in the US as 'Hi' but she was born into tribal royalty as Hiracy meaning the Queen Bee. She made the very best of her civilized new world. She went to school, went to vocational schools, became ... impressively one of the few women , who studied Information Technology . She taught herself English writing and reading so she could make friends all over the world.
Her brilliant mind and good looks made her want to know more about everything
ngng and made the world want to know more about her and where she came from, how she lived and survived the hard life in the Amazon.
I had a friend from Tucson who was performing nature studies at the university she was at and he told me about her. I had always had a love for Portuguese so I told him I would contact her via email and start trying to help her. I had no idea what she looked like but I thought it would be an interesting way to meet a new friend with common likes.
After a few sessions of an hour or so each we decided to Skype and visit face to face during our lessons. It was then that we both felt something more than a lesson going on. Shortly thereafter we decided to see where a type of long distance relationship would lead to even though we both had our 'this is most likely never going to work' thoughts about it.
But the more we got to know each other and my role as an activist for many many years against anyone ever going to prison for any reason and for sure for giving ex convicts such as myself another chance at life on the outside of the bars, we found we both were very much alike in ever single aspect except our vast age difference Other than that we decided to mutually become engaged and that I should go to the Amazon and experience life as an Amazon Indian even though my white skin, height above them and silver hair made me stand out like an airplane landing light. I said 'why not'? at first and then 'Let's Definitely Do This!'
So instead of her learning English - she became my right hand director and brilliant assistant in running of Bajito Onda Brand and licensing marketing worldwide dealings.
She began to work from home and I began to count on her for everything to helping me decide which arts would combine with which products being licensed to companies in Europe, Russia, Poland and around the world.
I decided to take a thousand pairs of Bajito Onda Shades to Manaus when I went to visit her in June. We decided we would kick off Bajito Onda Brand in a large way by giving the Indians in the jungle bright shiny reflective sunglasses to wear when often they are usually either naked or only covered with a few leaves. We saw it as a way to have fun and make a splash in some very sheltered lives.
The flight was delayed almost 24 hours due to having to land in another town due to a herd of animals being hit on the runway by the plane ahead of mine. My plane was running out of gas and could not circle any longer waiting for the 'issue' to be cleared. The trip from leaving Miami out over the dark ocean and flying over the even darker jungle for hundreds of miles was a bit unnerving to say the least.
She had been thinking as I had that my plane would land around 11 PM as all planes heading there to Miami do. However due to the heavy and violent storms of the rain forest - many flights are delayed to other airports to wait out the conditions.
However once the plane did arrive the next day we immediately knew our decision was correct in assuming we were a great couple and had many things in the future to do together.
This store, these products were designed by us personally for you, the 'new mainstream society.'
Part of the products were Hi's creation based on the lack of feminine glass fashions for the ladies in the cannabis movement. Each one is custom designed by Hi personally.
She is currently creating even more designs for ladies in the gold and silver metallic colors.
The others that feature my prison number #12605-077 are a reminder that there should never be another person sent to prison for marijuana. And for giving back to those who have served in prison for any crime and are out not facing a hard comeback struggle of acceptance and community reintegration.
I have lectured to the United Nations four times with regards to reintegration of prisoners back into society.
Bajito Onda was established by me in 1982 and became a 501c3 charity in 1994 with Five Star Global acceptance.
The amazing art in our hundreds of pieces collection is what is featured on the Fashion Glass here in this store. It is a master combination of the most intense prison lifer art in the world, true underground street graffiti, and tattoo art from some of the finest inkers on the planet. We also feature some of the very fine fashion label designers who have created for Bajito Onda Collection all kinds of fabulous logos and brand markings.
There are some designs that are strictly created for female fun and fashion.
Our first collection is around 50 unique designs.
We will be coming out with more on an ongoing basis.
Many Blessings to you and yours! And thank you for supporting Bajito Onda, the Underground Brand that Gives Back!
